Geeking Out with Gaming Influencers

Gaming influencers are gaining traction nowadays as video games have become more popular. They reach a targeted audience for tech product features and reviews, and these are great for the gift-giving season. Unsurprisingly, Instagram is still the dominant platform for influencer marketing. Still, brands looking to engage gaming influencers might want to consider tapping on the other streaming platforms with larger gaming communities such as YouTube, or even Twitch on which eSports fanatics congregate.

We chatted with a few gamers from the region to find out more about their gaming journeys and preferences.

I’ve enjoyed computer games since I was a kid! My first multiplayer online game was Ninja Trick and I was top 50 in the world when I was 14!

I can’t live without my Armegeddon Alcatroz mouse! Every other mouse just doesn’ feel right 😣

I am a huge can of anything Halo, but have recently found myself spending a ton of time on Destiny 2, Escape from Tarkov, VALORANT and League of Legends: Wild Rift!

How he got into gaming…

There is a picture of my uncle introducing me to Mario on the Gameboy when I was 3 years old. Since then, I’ve always had a passion for games and found like minded friends who share the same passions as I do.

Gaming equipment he cannot live without…

Any wireless headset. I made the switch one day and loved it. Recently I lost my wireless headset in a move and using my old wired for a month made me realize how much I relied on the freedom of wireless.

My favourite game right now is Valorant but overall I would say it is Dota 2.

How she got into gaming…

My brother and my ex boyfriend. I used to play XBox and MapleStory alot with my brother when I was younger and as I grew up, I got into Dota2 through my ex boyfriend. We would play at the cyber cafe after class together with his friends and it took off from there.

Gaming equipment she cannot live without…

I can’t live without a mechanical keyboard because of the way it feels when you play games with it. I love the sound and how tactile it is.
